Fulton County Add-On

Fulton County orders include a one-time $25 surcharge on top of the flat serve rate. The surcharge applies only when Fulton County is selected, and it's charged once per order — it does not multiply with the number of defendants on the same order.

Examples · 1 defendant in Fulton: base + $25 · 5 defendants in Fulton: base + (4×$50 addtl) + $25
Extended Area: Service 40+ miles from Atlanta may add an extended-area surcharge that our intake team confirms in your quote before any charge.

Legal Authority

Georgia Process
Serving Law.

Georgia's service of process requirements are governed by O.C.G.A. § 9-11-4, which sets the rules for how, when, and by whom legal documents must be served. Reliant Process Solutions operates in full compliance with all state statutes.

O.C.G.A. § 9-11-4 — Service of Process
Primary statute governing service of process in Georgia civil actions. Covers personal service, substituted service, and service on corporations, partnerships, and government entities.
O.C.G.A. § 9-11-4(e)(7) — Substituted Service
Allows service by leaving documents at defendant's dwelling with a person of suitable age and discretion who resides there. Our servers are trained to document substituted service with GPS and photos.
O.C.G.A. § 44-7-50 — Dispossessory Proceedings
Governs eviction (dispossessory) proceedings in Georgia. A specific notice and service process is required before a landlord may file a dispossessory warrant. We handle proper service for landlords statewide.

Common Service Methods
in Georgia Courts

Personal Service
Documents physically delivered to the named defendant. The gold standard for valid service. GPS and photo documented at point of delivery.
Substituted Service
When defendant is unavailable, documents may be left with a person of suitable age and discretion at their usual place of abode. Requires affidavit documentation.
Corporate Service
Service on a corporation may be made on its registered agent, president, vice president, or other officer. We verify registered agent status before each corporate serve.
Service by Publication
When a defendant cannot be located after diligent search, Georgia courts may allow service by publication. We provide skip trace and documented attempts to support publication motions.
Process Serving 101

Everything Attorneys Need
to Know About Georgia Service.

Who Can Serve Process in Georgia?

Any person who is not a party to the action and is 18 years of age or older may serve process in Georgia (O.C.G.A. § 9-11-4(b)). Professional process servers provide GPS documentation and professional liability insurance that self-service cannot.

How Long Does Service Take?

With Reliant Process Solutions, Standard speed includes a 2–3 business day first attempt. Next-day Rush (+$35) targets next business day. Same-day Rush (+$75) dispatches a server within 2 hours of order. The national average for process serving is 5–7 business days.

What is an Affidavit of Service?

An affidavit of service (proof of service) is a sworn statement by the process server documenting when, where, and how service was completed. We deliver GPS-stamped, photo-verified affidavits electronically within 24 hours of successful service.

What If a Defendant Evades Service?

Under Georgia law, a defendant cannot legally refuse service. If the server presents documents and the defendant refuses, placing them at the defendant's feet constitutes valid service. Our servers are trained on evasion tactics and document every attempt.

What is Skip Tracing?

Skip tracing uses public records, proprietary databases, and utility data to locate a defendant's current address. Our skip trace service typically returns results within 24–48 hours for standard searches, or 4–8 hours for expedited.

Do You File the Affidavit?

Yes — court filing is available as an add-on service ($45 standard, $75 rush). We file at the appropriate Georgia court after successful service and you receive confirmation with the filed affidavit same day.
